The Crescent Connection

Crescent Sock Company is the oldest continually operating sock mill in the United States. We were founded in Niota, TN in 1902 by James L. Burn, and continue to operate today under the leadership of his fourth generation family. During our 100+ years in business Crescent has crafted socks for some of the industry’s most iconic brands, and helped pioneer the use of Merino Wool in sock manufacturing.

THE BEGINNING.jpg

Crescent has made a name for itself in the hosiery industry as the go-to mill for companies looking for the highest quality socks available. Our quality control process is second to none, and our the pride our employees take in their work is clearly evident in every pair of socks we make.

Here at Crescent we believe in the power of American Manufacturing. We work closely with our American yarn producers to help strengthen the USA hosiery supply chain. In addition to our day-to- day sourcing efforts, Crescent employees have served on the board of Cotton Inc, and been honored as Wool Excellence Award Winners by the American Sheep Industry Association.

Today, in addition to being owned and operated by the 4th generation of the Burn Family, we are also a certified WBENC Women Owned Business; both Cathy Allen - CEO and Sandra Boyd - EVP are part of the Burn Family legacy.
